Gulf Coast Awards?

Onyx was the only tag team that hit pretty much every promotion on the Coast this year, save NHW.

Meanwhile, AJ & Mike only hit NHW & Panama City (unless you count Guild as Gulf Coast.. personally, I don't.). That's not a knock.. but once again.. don't say your the best of a year for an entire region when you only show up at one place in the region.

well caige, how can you say that when Onyx has never been to NHW this year and never been to GUILD. (which i do count) We are 2x tag champs at both and are current AIWF FL Tag Champs. Oh and by the way May 5, 2012 AIWF World Tag Team Title Rankings were posted and guess who was ranked #1. THE ARROGANT AMERICANS (AJ STROKES & MIKE FACEN) Don't get me wrong, Onyx is a great team, but our resume speaks for itself.

Of course it does. But even if you do count Guild as a part of the Coast, Onyx has been tag champs in every promotion carrying a tag strap that they've worked the past year, and have STILL worked more promotions than you guys have on the Coast. (Don't forget who was the #3 Cruiserweight in the World according to AIWF.. which only counts you if you work an affiliate promotion anyway.)

While they never showed up at NHW, you guys never showed up at Planet, CSW, SXW, IPW, the last 4 months of Ultimate, and since you want to count the distance that Guild is from everyone esle.. New Breed, or any Mississippi promotion that I've seen advertised or heard about through other workers. Marcus & TA did, and drew bigger heat than I've ever seen you two get with my own eyes.

Again, don't take this as a knock. You guys are a good team and you especially have the world ahead of you. But I don't buy you two as team of the year when the percentage of promotions you worked in the area is smaller than Tim Tebow's completion percentage. You want to win "Best on the Coast".. then work on the Coast.

It's a sad day in my life when that sh!t hole SXW is considered Gulf Coast or anything "wrestling". They're lucky Zane shows up because that place is a big turd in a toilet bowl. I'm not in the know with the GC but to my understanding their isn't a lot of work anymore. Anyone care to correct me? As for Manager of the Year. Really? Becki was the only valet when I was last around at the end of April. Idk. Rex is a great choice for WOTY. As for tag from what I've seen there's only a few teams and I would give it to Marcus & TA just for being consistent and working the area. I do consider Guild a hybrid of the Coast & Central FL.

I wish Jerry & Kiel produced round tables. Those were good stuff. Brian you ever going to produce one?

I am a bit surprised by some of the nominations. Sadly, it shows me how much I don't know about GCW. I appreciate everyone's input, as I hope it improves public awareness of the guys in the area.

I agree. But supposedly they're making a commitment to turn it around, so I'll give them benefit of the doubt until they've run a few more times with their, as it was put to me, "revamping of the roster."

Never put much thought into it, but if there's interest & guys wanna do it I'm always game. I was just over at FRF helping with the long awaited Kiel discussion on UW.. so I know a lot of guys were waiting around for that to do some grievance airing in a public forum. We'll see what happens.

And I don't want to knock Becki (or do I? giggity), and I know she drives a lot of hits for the board, Snow.. but really there shouldn't be a Gulf Coast "Diva" of the Year. What little competition you could say she had wasn't really competition (or competent for that matter..), not to mention that once she took her first road trip down south (giggity) she completely kayfabed the rest of the promotions around here except NHW.

I mean, the Becki Kennedi Invitational Tournament? Are you fucking serious? Who's lame ass idea was that? ::looking at you Colby::
It's easily the most hollow award you could give out. Just my opine, here.
